One just uses pen and paper character sheets - rubbing out stats and doodling in the margins. The other pretty much all use some form of digital character sheet like the Fight Club 5e App or DnD Beyond - they don't even roll actual dice. I'm a bit conflicted between which one I prefer.So I made my own. Google Docs is great for playing online because you can just toss your DM the link to your character sheet. Mine isn't pretty, but it's perfectly functional and has plenty of space to work with. If you want to use it, go to file -> make a copy and this will give you your own version of it.
