In My Father's House tells the story of the ten Boom family before WWII. While The Hiding Place does cover the basic family history, In My Father's House goes into much more detail. We get to see the dynamics of the ten Boom family at its largest (parents, four children, and three aunts) and watch it whittle down to Caspar, Betsie, and Corrie.Cornelia "Corrie" ten Boom (15 April 1892 – 15 April 1983) was a Dutch Christian who, along with her father and other family members, helped many Jews escape the Nazi Holocaust during World War II. She was imprisoned for her actions.Altogether, the Gestapo arrested some 30 people in the ten Boom family home that day. After holding them briefly in the penitentiary in Scheveningen, a seaside town close to The Hague, the Gestapo released all but three of the ten Boom family members.
