I do not have a plier at hand as mentioned by Tester101. What I did was to use a hammer and a flat screw driver. Put the screw driver head against a grove on the knob. If no you might have to swap it out for another. Just the gas adjustment knob. This is the torch I have. I use butane torches so this is a total guess but in the add it states it has a pencil tip.
